Kieran completed his undergraduate Physiotherapy training at the University of Nottingham in 1998 and completed his masters degree in Manipulative Physiotherapy at the University of Brighton in 2007. Kieran is a member of the prestigious Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP). He is a qualified injection therapist. Kieran is currently completing his second masters degree, this time in clinical research. His publications include various chapters in core physiotherapy textbooks, one of which he co-edits.
Kieran has worked in both in the NHS and the private sector, including a spell working in professional football for Norwich City F.C. Currently he works as an Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist and is Hip and Knee clinical lead for Sussex MSK Partnership, the largest musculokeletal service in the country, leading a team of experienced and specialist physios. He has worked in an ‘extended scope’ for the last ten years. He has referral rights for x ray, MRI and blood investigations and works closely with local Rheumatologists, Orthopaedic Surgeons and Neurosurgeons. He is able to list some patients for surgery. As part of his role Kieran acts as a clinical mentor to MSc students on clinical placement. His clinical interests include clinical reasoning, communication, sporting injuries and spinal pain. He is also an expert adviser to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.
Kieran lives in Brighton with his wife and 3 young children. He enjoys family life and keeping fit by running and training with kettlebells.
